About Me
“The world is not in your books and maps, it’s out there.”
I promise you, I’m not one to casually contradict Gandalf, but you know what… let me do it, just this once.
The world IS in your books. So many worlds, actually. And sometimes it’s ok to only travel there, please trust me on this.
Me? I did travel this earth… watched sunsets through cockpit windows, walked through cities that felt like memories waiting to be written — but our world map is not the only one I call home.
There are places I’ve wandered only through pages: kingdoms that no compass can point to, cities built from words, oceans made of ink. I’ve met strangers who never lived, cried for wars that never happened, battled pirates on distant seas, and found pieces of myself in sentences written centuries ago.
And this is what I am going to share here, with you. From my *all over the place* book reviews to the cutest book coffee shops somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere and to that absolutely golden library I might have found in the Northern one. Oh, and the thoughts from that plain, boring bridge that everyone crosses on a daily basis and they don’t stop for a second to think about my childhood favorite book characters – Tess, Jem and Will.
I’m Maddie, your friendly cabin crew by day (oh, who am I kidding? By day, night, morning, UTC time, whatever), book addict by night (and day..and you got the point). My superpower is crying, I do it while watching horror movies, the funniest comedies you’d ever seen, an ad about someone’s grandma or some random food reality show. I love spending time on my balcony, which is kinda good ‘cause I live in a country with no real winter, but also bad ‘cause I live in a country with HOT (and I bloody mean it) summers. I believe flying is the greatest thing humanity has accomplished and sometimes I just wanna scream at people “Can you even comprehend flying????”. I don’t do it, though, don’t worry.
You’ll find out that “travel” to me is basically more about that isolated, faraway place that I just stumbled upon, or even about my favorite market in a foreign neighborhood and LESS about “top whatever spots in whatever city”. I love everything nature and I love everything music.
Okay, soo.. that’s it about me, for now. Nice to meet you and.. yeah, let’s dive in.
With love,
Maddie
